Can we use our own URL for Zimbra access? What about SSL?

Yes, you may use your own URL to access Zimbra services - we call this the Public Service Host Name.

The first step is to create an A host record pointing to the same IP address as our Zimbra URL or create a CNAME record. Then follow the instructions in the Branding section of the Reseller Centre to assign your own logo and login banner and configure which domain names should have the branding applied.

This level of customisation is available as standard for all of our resellers and all Zimbra protocols are supported except for XMPP (Instant Messenger) and SSL for IMAP/POP3. Webmail users are redirected to a generic SSL enabled URL whilst they login, although your login banner will be displayed whilst they are logging in (so the only change a user would notice is the URL). As an optional extra we are able to assign you a dedicated IP address on our Zimbra Proxy System and install a custom SSL certificate to match your URL - this option provides a complete solution for situations where branding is highly important to the reseller's business.
