Email Continuity
The In-Tuition E-mail Continuity service gives businesses the ability to send and receive business critical e-mail in the event of a failure of their on site mail server, at a fraction of the cost of similar solutions.
The system stores 30 days of e-mail on In-Tuition’s Hosted Zimbra mail platform. End users have access to a replica of their inbox via a convenient web interface, so they can access their e-mail from any location.
The E-mail Continuity service ensures employees can continue to function in the case of:
- Mail Server outages (Scheduled or unscheduled)
- Loss of access to business premises (flood, fire etc)
- Office Internet Connection failure (remote users can still access their mail)
- Mail data corruption
How It Works
The service is compatible with all onsite e-mail server or 3rd party hosted e-mail solutions including Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes & Postini and works by re-routing customer’s SMTP traffic via In-Tuition’s MX servers. A copy of every incoming email is placed into a continuity mailbox and stored for at least 30 days and then emails are forwarded through to the customer controlled mail server. In the event of a mail server outage, end users log on to their individual continuity mailbox and can continue to work. E-mails sent from the continuity mailbox are easily repatriated after a continuity event with no administrative overhead. E-mail destined for the mail server is queued during the outage and delivered to the mail server when it comes back online.
